These are just a few of the possible options for things to do.  We are close to South Haven, an hour from Saugatuck, beaches are within walking distance and the Apple Cider Century bicycle route is only a half mile away.

Things To Do

The Swedish Bakery and Louisa’s Café just two blocks from the cottage is a favorite for breakfast and lunch.

Some of our personal favorites...

Harbert House

Home away from home

None of the Harbor Country beaches, with the exception of New Buffalo, provide lifeguards. The problem is that there are literally hundreds of miles of beaches.  We have a number of really great ones within walking distance of the cottage.

Soe’ in Sawyer is another favorite for lunch and dinner

Whether you are looking to go gallery hopping or dining out, Harbor Country has a number of interesting options for your entertainment.  The Acorn offers live performances.  The Vicker’s Theater offers some of the best “indie” movies and you can’t go wrong eating at Louisa’s or Soe’.

If it is beaches with amenities (toilets and concessions) this is the beach for you.  None of the other area beaches other than New Buffalo, offer any of these “comforts”.

South Haven

Walk out to the end of the light house pier.  South Haven also boasts plenty of shopping and dining opportunities as well as beaches and more pier fishing.  25 plus pound lake trout have been taken from the pier.

Panera Bread is located at Exit 27.  At Exit  28 you’ll find a Culver’s and Burger King.  At Exit 29 you will find Best Buy, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Staples and more.  Many other eating possibilities are present here as well.

You’ll find a Laundromat down the Red Arrow Highway just south of the blinker in Union Pier’s strip mall on the west side of the street.
